Girls, Inc. High School Coding Camp

Outreach workshop to 25 high school women from Lincoln Public Schools as an outreach event supported by my NSF CAREER award and our NSF NRI project on Leveraging Environmental Monitoring UAS in Rainforests.

This workshop will focus on presenting coding and robotics as computing disciplines to allow high school women to understand applications of computing in the context of ongoing, cutting edge scientific exploration. Students will engage with block-based coding to understand computational thinking, build a Lego robot with expanding sensor payloads, and apply their skills to maze navigation to demonstrate their learning objectives.
